Artists of all ages and experience levels can build skills and enjoy the fellowship of other artists through Arts Center programs.
The mission of the Irving Arts Board and the Irving Arts Center is to serve citizens and visitors through the support and development of artistic opportunities.
Irving is a vibrant place to live, work, and visit and the Arts Board is dedicated to providing artistic opportunities for all citizens to learn about, participate in, experience, and enjoy the arts in all its forms. There are a number of resources available for those interested in making art, organizations dedicated to providing cultural opportunities for residents and visitors and for those who wish to support the efforts of such groups behind the curtain.

As a Smithsonian Affiliate Institution, Irving Arts Center echoes the Smithsonian mission: “The increase and diffusion of knowledge.” Irving Arts Center aims to inspire artists, scientists, technologists and creative thinkers by providing opportunities for learning and engaging.

Workshops & Classes
Irving Arts Center offers workshops, lectures and demonstrations for adults throughout the year. Current upcoming workshop opportunities include Memories in the Making and Caregiver workshops (scroll to bottom of page for more info). For young artists ages 4-16, the summer camps cover the full spectrum of visual and performing arts. Saturday School offers four six-week sessions October through May concentrating on the Visual Arts .
Painting & Drawing Workshop with Tuncay Topcu
Irving Arts Center will host a Painting & Drawing Workshop for kids/teens (ages 8 – 15) on Sunday, November 5 from 1 – 3PM. The cost is $25 with all supplies included.
Irving Arts Center will host a Painting & Drawing Workshop for adults on Sunday, November 5 from 3:30PM – 5:30PM. The cost is $35 with all supplies included.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR/ARTIST Tuncay Topҫu is an arist based in Turkey who exhibits internationally. The exhibition, Close to Me, Far from Me will be on view at Irving Arts Center, Nov. 4, 2023 – Feb. 24, 2024. It features Topcu’s recent abstract paintings, notable for their expressive paint strokes and rich colors whose organic and amorphous areas are defined by the presence of a bold black line.
