Immerse Your Senses
Take a visual dive into the vibrant pools and cooling spray of the fountains in our Sculpture Garden.
The bold visions of local and international artists mesh with vibrant natural elements in our two-acre oasis. Created to showcase Texas artists, three Lone Star sculptors were commissioned to create installations for the Garden. Michael Manjarris installed Benches in 1999, Jesus Moroles installed Fountain Columns in 1998 and James Surls installed Star Flower in 2008.
Other permanent works include a monumental pictorial mosaic, Irving Centennial Mural by Francisco Mendoza created with young artists from Irving, and’03 Politicized Democracy by John Brough Miller.
The Sculpture Garden currently features a sculpture by American artist Reuben Nakian; Goddess of the Golden Thighs, on long-term loan from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. Other sculptures from local and regional artists are exhibited on a rotating basis.
The Irving Arts Center’s Sculpture Garden creates a superb backdrop day or night with art set amidst flowers, fountains and wondering paths. The setting is perfect for a romantic wedding or a casual family outing.
