Lunch & Learn is a free monthly in-person program, typically held the first Tuesday of the month, from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. at Irving Arts Center. Robert Batson will join us Tuesday, April 1 from noon to 1:30PM as our featured guest speaker.
Robert Batson is an Irving-based artist, art educator and retired architect will discuss his recent body of work: mixed media, abstract landscapes inspired by the Southwest. Robert uses a variety of materials including paint, pastels and torn & folded paper to explore his fascination with color, texture and the land. He will also provide a demonstration of his working methods and processes as part of his presentation.
Robert exhibits his art at the Taos Artists Collective gallery in Taos, New Mexico and the Fine Arts New Mexico gallery in Arroyo Seco. He also volunteers at the Irving Arts Center as a docent and participates in the family, youth and teen programs. Robert has previously exhibited at the Irving Arts Center (Weaving Paint: A Concept Revisited in 2016 and New Works: 2019 – 2021 in 2021) and at the Irving Archives & Museum (Diptychs, Triptychs and Other Experiments in 2024).
