Galleries are free and open to the public Tues.-Sat. noon to 5 pm
Sudeep Kumar is an avid painter, illustrator, and urban sketcher. To him, art is like a meditation… a silent conversation with self… a means by which he can see things more clearly. Spontaneity, unpredictability, and self-discovery in making art is exciting.
On one hand, Sudeep Kumar’s work captures the energy or mood of a place or event, presenting it to the audience to have them connect to the subject more closely as if it’s an integral part of their life. On the other hand, it’s a portrait of human emotions underneath our daily struggle for survival or mundane day-to-day activities.
In his art, Sudeep uses charcoal, ink pen, and watercolor but aims to use minimum media/material so as not to disctract the viewer from the message he wishes to convey. And what is that message? In today’s world of technological advancement, Sudeep believes we as a species are losing touch with our surroundings, our environment, and our fellow human beings. Real connection or intimacy is missing. Through his art, Sudeep conveys these missing elements, so the viewer may take a step back from their busy life to explore their surroundings more fully.
