Dance of Hope is more than just a dance; it is a gathering of a community – gathering of dance studios, school dance teams, and competitive dance productions and their supporters. Join the Let It Be Foundation and dancers from around Dallas-Fort Worth as they come together with passion, purpose and hope to unite a community through the expression of dance. It is not a competition, but rather a joining of many dance worlds for a cause, and for hope as they dance together for local kids. Ticket proceeds from the event will benefit Cook Children’s Hospital of Fort Worth and The Let It Be Foundation.
MORE ABOUT DANCE OF HOPE
In 2005, Dance of Hope was created to provide a platform for the dance families of Southern California communities in the Inland Empire, to show their love for a child in need. Karla, just 14 years old had been newly diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor and her dance team, together with their advisor gathered together to do a fundraiser for her to show their support. Karla accepted the generosity of the dance team to do the fundraiser, but only had one condition – that the event wouldn’t stop with her but would continue for the years to come to help other kids in need. Sadly, Karla lost her battle to cancer shortly before the next years dance.
Shortly before Karla lost her battle, Karla’s mom made a promise to keep the dance going to honor her daughters wishes. Through her mom’s commitment, Karla’s dance advisor and a passionate team of other dance moms – they have been able to keep the dance going for 16 years and support other children who are in need of hope. We are so proud to announce this year in Irving, Texas, dance studios across DFW are coming together to spread the message of love and hope that Karla left for us to carry on. Ticket proceeds will benefit Cook Children’s Hospital of Fort Worth and The Let It Be Foundation.
The Let it Be Foundation is honored to be holding this special benefit at the stunning Irving Arts Center in the Carpenter Center, a fully equipped theater renovated in 2018. With no seat more than 75’ from the front of the stage, the audience experiences the excitement and energy of a live performance from every seat in the house. Dance of Hope is more than just a dance; it is a gathering of a community – gathering of dance studios, school dance teams, and competitive dance productions and their supporters. All the dancers come together with passion, purpose and hope to unite a community through the expression of dance. It is not a competition but rather a joining of many dance worlds for a cause, and for hope as they dance together for local kids.
Why did we choose to bring it to DFW? Kilee Shafer, a current Emerald Belles member, and Southlake Carroll senior student has been working with The Let It Be Foundation for a little over a year now. She discovered The Let It Be Foundation in the Spring of 2021 through her father who works closely with one of the founders, Michael Rosen. Ever since she heard about this foundation she has wanted to become a part of this amazing story and purpose. Feeling blessed to have earned an internship with The Let It Be Foundation where she worked closely with Mrs. Rosen, the Co-Founder and CEO. Together, along with seven other planning team members, they have been hard at work planning this influential benefit and we are so excited to finally bring it to life here in DFW.
