Celebration of Dance 25! Presented by Ballet Ensemble of Texas

Ballet Ensemble of Texas, one of Dallas’ best-reviewed pre-professional ballet companies, presents CELEBRATION OF DANCE 25! April 5-6. The annual event will feature a BET revival of GAÎTÉ PARISIENNE!

GAÎTÉ PARISIENNE was choreographed in 1938 for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo by Léonide Massine, to music by Jacques Offenbach. The ballet depicts the amorous flirtations, convivial dancing, and high spirits of a diverse group of people who patronize a fashionable café one evening during the period of the Second Empire.

Also, on the program will be two new works for BET. “DANCING WITH ELLA AND SATCHMO,” with choreography by Penny Askew that was inspired by two titans of 20th century music, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
