Beauty and the Beast presented by Gateway Performing Arts

Gateway Performing Arts proudly presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with performances July 1-10. The classic musical tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast does not learn his lesson in time, he and his household will be trapped for all eternity. But if he can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is an international sensation that has been produced in 37 countries worldwide. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, the stage version includes all the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman as well as new songs by Alan Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over 13 years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including best musical.
