Resident Art Organizations

The Pulse of the Irving Arts Center

The Arts Center is proud to serve as the home to ten Irving-based cultural organizations. These designated 501(C)(3) non-profits are governed by their own Boards and operate independently of the Arts Center. Each organization sets policy and plans its own programs. Collectively they produce a wide range of art offerings, and as designated Resident Arts Organizations, have access to a variety of services and benefits through the Irving Arts Board.

Entertainment Series of Irving (ESI)

Entertainment Series began bringing nationally- and internationally-recognized performers to Irving in 1956. Their offerings feature a wide variety of affordable entertainment including big band jazz, musical revues and dance performances.

Irving Black Arts Council (IBAC)

IBAC promotes and showcases African American artistic talent through art exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings, theatrical productions and youth programs. Their mission is to encourage cultural enrichment for individuals and families.

Irving Chorale (IC)

Irving Chorale is a community chorus of singers from Irving and the surrounding areas. The membership of more than 60 voices is dedicated to attaining the highest standards of choral performance of the greatest music in the choral repertoire.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas (MILC)

MainStage provides award-winning, theatrical entertainment at an affordable price. MILC also provides opportunities for involvement by the community in all areas of theatrical production through open auditions, mentoring, special project support and classes.


Irving Art Association
 (IAA)

Established in 1956, IAA is one of the oldest cultural organizations in the city. The organization is committed to supporting year round art appreciation and educational opportunities. The schedule includes more than 20 curated exhibitions, professional demonstrations and workshops.

Irving Symphonic Band (ISB)

ISB provides quality music for concert-goers and a musical outlet for its members under the baton of Jay Bach. The band has hosted such distinguished guests as David Holsinger, Francis McBeth, Dr. Alfred Green and Captain Lewis J. Buckley.

Irving Symphony Orchestra  (ISO)

The Irving Symphony Orchestra has been entertaining audiences since 1961.  Helmed by award-winning Maestro Hector Guzman, the ISO presents six concerts each season with notable guest artists and varied repertoire.  The orchestra’s commitment to education and giving back to the community, provides IISD students with youth concerts each year and musical enjoyment and inspiration to citizens and patients through its Healing Notes/Bats ‘n Brass programs.

Momentum Dance Company (MDC)

Founded in 1998 by Jacquelyn Ralls Forcher as a venue for pre- professional ballet dancers, Momentum Dance is Irving’s only ballet company. Their annual presentation of the Nutcracker is a beloved community event.

New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving (NPOI)

NPOI is a full-size community orchestra comprised of musicians from Irving and surrounding areas. Through involvement in local service projects, the orchestra enriches the cultural life of the community it serves.
