Board Service

Our ten Resident Art Organizations are all 501© (3) not-for-profits with independently elected Boards of Directors. If you have a passion for service AND the arts, consider serving as a board member.

Councilman Allan Meagher, Harold Closter (Smithsonian Affiliations), Richard Huff (Former Executive Director Irving Arts Center), Gus Tramp (Chair, Irving Arts Board) and Aaron Glavas (Smithsonian Affiliations) recognize Irving Arts Center during the 2007 Transportation Summit.

Make Your Mark and A Difference in Your Community

Board service is an excellent way to have a substantial, and ongoing, impact in Irving. As a member of a dedicated team of concerned and engaged citizens, you can identify long-term goals, seek out diverse opportunities for collaboration, and brainstorm—as well as potentially implement—innovative strategies for lasting change.

It’s a great way to meet others, build new social ties and support the arts. Other great reasons to join a nonprofit board of directors?

  • Learn and share expertise with such tasks as strategic planning, financial management, and grant writing
  • Hone and actively demonstrating your leadership skills
  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at internal organizational systems such as nonprofit management, human resources, fundraising and resource development, and volunteer resource management

Interested?

Send an email inquiry to boxoffice@irvingartscenter.org and we will connect you with your organization of choice.
