Celebrate “Christmas in July” as Gateway Performing Arts presents Irving Berlin’s White Christmas with performances June 30-July 9. The classic story follows Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters, Betty and Judy Haynes, en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander, General Henry Waverly. Unbeknownst to Waverly, the inn is struggling to survive. Together with the inn’s staff and Waverly’s former troops, Bob, Phil, Betty, and Judy decide to put on a big show to draw in business.
White Christmas: The Musical is based on the beloved film with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin. The stage version of White Christmas premiered on Broadway in 2008 and was nominated for two Tony Awards. The production features many favorites including, “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean,” and of course, the title song, “White Christmas.”
