The next generation of opera is here! This upcoming May, Next Generation Opera at UNT brings to life an action-packed, original reworking of Bizet’s timeless masterpiece, Carmen, in a fully-staged production.

This version of Carmen is adapted by NextGen Opera with two casts, one singing in English and one in Spanish. It extracts the essence of the tragic opera and presents the work as a fast-paced, intimate music drama. The opera has been re-orchestrated for a flamenco band to add a unique flare to the Spanish-inspired music.
